A.S.T. aims to introduce the experienced members of the SSCR into an everyday experience that our society would like to implement by a new type of challenge, and therefore to put into practice the knowledge acquired directly on corpses, by simulating some surgical maneuvers. The course is conducted in close relationship with professional and experienced university staff who will directly supervise the applications developed, so that the student in med school, graduate of this course can acquire not only practically most relevant theoretical information, but also a practical experience unmatched by other activities in college.
Thoracic surgery - Surgical demonstration of “tracheostomy”, pleural drainage, thoracentesis, costectomy, cricothyroidotomy, lumbar puncture.
General Surgery - Surgical demonstration of “cholecystectomy"/” appendicectomy”, paracentesis, intestinal resection.
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - Surgical demonstration of “reverse radial flap” , tenorrafia and cutaneous flaps.
There are accepted 15 participants.
They will be divided into three groups of five participants, which will rotate in rooms workshops reserved for the specialties workshops thoracic surgery, general surgery and plastic surgery.
Work will be performed in parallel for each surgical specialty, being provided three bodies in three different rooms.
Each team will spend 4 hours in the workshop room of general surgery and plastic surgery and 5 hours in thoracic surgery, in total 13 hours.
Permanently, students will be supervised by experienced instructors.
