Scope:
Skip endless, tedious, theoretical classes; come and see the world from a different perspective: through the surgical microscope. This is the best chance for medical students to develop skills that are both useful and mandatory for a future resident/surgeon whose practice includes microsurgery or for someone who flirts with research that includes experimental surgery. This summer project offers a relaxed, yet professional working atmosphere, that will allow students to fulfill their educational goals but also to get to know other colleagues from international medical centers, to work as a team, to build long-lasting friendships, that will eventually lead to greater affiliation between universities and why not, to setting the foundation for future national and international projects.Click here to see ISEM's Facebook page Click here to see our Facebook page and thus, more details regarding our activity.

This course consists of 5 modules (1 module per day) with a duration of approximately 6 hours per module. The modules start on Monday and finish on Sunday (with one day consisting of social program only). Each module has a theoretical part assisted by SSCR trainers and medical doctors. The trainers will provide additional information to the presentations and will engage with the participants in discussions on the given topic. The theoretical part of the course is accompanied by a practical part consisting in demonstrations performed by the main trainer/doctor at a central desk. Each student will be given a surgical kit. The trainers sit among the students, they supervise and help participants in making the surgical maneuvers designed and explained by the main trainer/doctor.
